Hello, everyone. I was invited here by Ken, so I wanted to drop in and say hey...
Last year, I was in the market for a cheap, fun car. My long, weird list (Fiat X1/9, MR2 Spyder, older 3 Series Bimmer, 944, Karmann Ghia, Celica, Prelude, Civic, RHD Austin Mini, Del Sol, Miata, etc.) included a Volvo P1800 after I spotted one less than two blocks from my house!
When I first saw it, I had no idea what it was - but I could tell instantly, from the body lines, that it was bodied by Carrozzeria Ghia. I took a few pictures and when I got home, I could see that it said Volvo on the back.
I couldn't find one for sale in my price range, and ended up getting a 1968 Mrk III Triumph Spitfire. The wheel came off the very next day and I ended up returning the car, but that's a different story.
Needless to say, I still have the '95 VW Jetta GL III that I was trying to replace, but it's enough fun to keep me happy ...for now.
Anyway, here are two shots of the P1800. If anyone here owns one, I would love to know your driving impressions of the car.
