So I recently bought this car after having had a mechanic check it out, and on the way home it made a bizarre sound which it has repeated with increasing frequency. I can be driving or idling, when I hear a sound from the engine area that goes 'arrrr, arrrr'. Basically it sounds like a seal. It repeats a few times with regular intervals, at the same time there is a slight bump in the RPMs.

Perhaps a different version of the sound occured when I was idling in a tunnel with the window down, sounded like it came from the drivers side of the engine--sort of a faint 'wishhh, wishhh, wishhh' like air was being pumped out (again a slight bump in RPMs).

Other wise the car drives and breaks fine.
