hello, I have a 2004 xc90 and the stering wheel is loose. The dealer says he has to remove the air bag and tighten a bolt. Does anyone know if this is a big job? He says about half hour of work? Could I do this myself? thanks.
Yes, but if you set off the air bag you'll have to pay for a replacement youself (and dry clean your pants) but a shop that knows how to disable the system correctly shold have no issues (and be responsible if they do).
Need some instruction on removing our steering wheel. I noticed today the wheel is loose. Steering is tight, but if I try rocking it against the column, there is considerable slop. The column itself is tight, the movement seems only to be where the wheel is mounted. So basically, I want to know how to tear it down far enough to get to the mounting bolt & tighten it up.
A graphic or some experience would be appreciated, I've never messed with it before, & I don't want to screw anything up (like the air bag!). Shareitvidmate

Yes but you will have to replace it with new airbag which will cost you money, and i would suggest you to let the professional do it. mybkexperiencemcdvoice
