xc90 Loose stering wheel, have to remove air bag?

hello, I have a 2004 xc90 and the stering wheel is loose. The dealer says he has to remove the air bag and tighten a bolt. Does anyone know if this is a big job? He says about half hour of work? Could I do this myself? thanks.

Yes, but if you set off the air bag you'll have to pay for a replacement youself (and dry clean your pants) but a shop that knows how to disable the system correctly shold have no issues (and be responsible if they do).
I'd let an experienced shop do this. You don't want any issues before or after this type of repair.
I had the dealer fix it. half hour labor. Thanks to all.
Need some instruction on removing our steering wheel. I noticed today the wheel is loose. Steering is tight, but if I try rocking it against the column, there is considerable slop. The column itself is tight, the movement seems only to be where the wheel is mounted. So basically, I want to know how to tear it down far enough to get to the mounting bolt & tighten it up.
A graphic or some experience would be appreciated, I've never messed with it before, & I don't want to screw anything up (like the air bag!). Shareit vidmate

Yes but you will have to replace it with new airbag which will cost you money, and i would suggest you to let the professional do it. mybkexperience mcdvoice
