I have a 2016 XC90 and replaced the sparkplugs with OEM at 40K miles. Recently, I'm getting a Cylinder 1 misfire code only during a cold start. Otherwise, it runs fine. I swapped the ignition coil with Cylinder 4 to test if its a bad ignition coil and still get the Cylinder 1 misfire. The trouble code only comes up once in a while on cold mornings. I have no clue what would cause this trouble code trigger. Could the sparkplug gap be off or a gad plug? The Volvo dealer parts manager said the OEM plugs are pre-gapped.

I have a similar problem with 2013 XC90. Intermittent misfire in no.2 cylinder. I have installed new plugs, no change. I have swapped coil packs, no change. May or may not show on compression test due to the intermittent nature of the misfire. I believe it may be a warped valve, which when rotated in a specific spot, has a very slight misfire, then goes back to being seated. I will likely swap fuel injector just to rule them out before I remove the cylinder head. Any suggestions would be great.
