Arrow Front End Rattle

My '08 C30 has recently started experiencing some rattling. The sound is coming from the front end on the passenger side. The fact that the sound seems to be coming from the wheel area leads me to believe that the end link might be worn out. Does anyone agree with that statement? I figured this would be a good place to check before I spend $100 on parts that won't solve the problem.

I should be a little more descript with the issue. It's actually more of a clunking sound. And the sound is only audible when I'm coasting at speeds of 50mph or lower. As soon as I step on the gas or accelerator, the sound goes away.

Steering component could be the source or could simply be a loose wheel....

Sort is out quick.

Probably one of the brakes' backing plate is touching the rotor.
If you feel the sound is coming from the wheels then try reaching behind each wheel and slightly bending the bottom of the plate down a bit so that it isn't doesn't come close or touch the rotor.

I suspect steering component or even a caliper issue. If it was a backing plate touching the rotor it would give you a scrape/squeal noise, not a clunk. Take the wheel off and look around. Grab the end link and give it a good push/pull, movement should be minimal.

i had a rattling, clunking squeaking (im not sure thats how you spell that) noise coming from my front right wheel, it turned out to be a worn suspension. whenever i went over a bump there was a loud clunk and squeaking. Apparantly due to extra give allowed by this particular part of the suspension there was enough room for the rod to move up and down alot more and it was rubbing against the side of the well... maybe its a similar issue?

pop your hood, push down on the fender and look at the strut. chances are the upper coil spring seat is busted. if not then jack car up grab wheel and try to rock wheel up and down (ball joint) and in and out (tie rod). you should not have any noticeable movement. grab half shaft inboard of CV joint and move in and out and listen for any clunking noise. a torn CV boot will allow sand/dirt to get in and destroy the joint.

on your model car the most common problem is the front control arm rear bushing wears out,also the shocks wear out and leak oil on this model,the shocks will rattle the bushing could clunk,also have the axle joints checked, they make more nosie when you step on the gas most times,just a thought because you said it was speed dependant.
